Miyuki Shirogane

About Miyuki Shirogane

Miyuki Shirogane is Shuchiin Academy's student council president, a scholarship student who took the top spot from richer classmates through brutal hard work. Secretly he studies, works part-time jobs and survives on almost no sleep to keep up his perfect image. He loves Kaguya Shinomiya, and, just as proud as she is, he refuses to confess first.

Appearance

Miyuki is a lean teenager with messy blond hair and sharp blue eyes with permanent dark shadows beneath them, the visible price of his study-and-work schedule. He wears the Shuchiin uniform and council president's bearing with care, since his image as an effortless genius is something he manufactures daily.

Personality

Miyuki is disciplined, kind and stubbornly proud. He works part-time jobs, studies until he drops and hides every crack in the performance, because the boy from an ordinary family feels he must be flawless among Shuchiin's elite. With Kaguya he is a strategist; with the council he is a dependable older brother; with himself he is his own harshest critic.

Background & Story

Miyuki grew up in a family that lost its factory and its money; his mother left, and his father now drifts between schemes while Miyuki and his sister Kei keep the household running on his part-time wages and scholarship. At Shuchiin he out-studied the rich to become top student and council president, where the one person who matches him is his vice-president, Kaguya Shinomiya. Falling for her starts the same war from the other side: Miyuki is determined that a Shinomiya heiress must be the one to confess to him. Council days become campaigns, and his exhaustion becomes just another secret to hide from the girl he is trying to impress.
