R1Ranma 1/2 Season 3TV · 2026Ranma Saotome turns into a girl when splashed with cold water and back into a boy with hot water, thanks to a training accident at the cursed springs of Jusenkyo in China. Season 3 of MAPPA's remake premiered on 3 October 2026 on Nippon TV, with Netflix streaming each episode worldwide right after the Japanese broadcast. The remake keeps the formula that made Rumiko Takahashi's manga a classic: Ranma's engagement to the temperamental Akane Tendo, a growing crowd of rivals and fiancées, and martial arts applied to absolutely everything, cooking, gymnastics, tea ceremony, you name it. Season 3 opens with Ranma and Ryoga's rivalry front and centre, brings Happosai and Cologne's schemes back into play, and adds new faces, including Sentaro Daimonji of the martial-arts tea ceremony school. Most of the original 1989 voice cast is back in the same roles more than three decades later, which gives the remake a warmth no reboot could fake. If you like your comedy fast, physical and hopelessly romantic, this is the season to jump in, though the first two seasons are only 12 episodes each.

HHaikyuu!!TV · 2014Shoyo Hinata is short, fast and obsessed with volleyball, but his tiny middle-school team never stood a chance. Now at Karasuno High he must team up with Tobio Kageyama, the setter who once crushed him. Animated by Production I.G and adapted from Haruichi Furudate's manga, Haikyuu!! follows Karasuno (once called the 'flightless crows', a fallen powerhouse school) as a new generation rebuilds the team and claws its way back toward the national stage. Across four TV seasons (2014–2020) and now a run of cinema films, the series turns school volleyball into pure drama: no superpowers, no shortcuts, just real technique, teamwork and rivalries that grow over years. What makes it special is how much it loves everyone on the court. Rival schools like Nekoma, Aoba Johsai, Shiratorizawa and Inarizaki all get heroes, heartbreaks and reasons to win, so even Karasuno's defeats feel meaningful. The Hinata–Kageyama partnership, a lightning-fast quick attack built on total trust, drives the story, but this is an ensemble piece where bench players, managers and coaches all matter. Warm, funny and relentlessly exciting, it is widely loved as one of the finest sports anime ever made.

TTThat Time I Got Reincarnated as a SlimeTV · 2018Office worker Satoru Mikami dies and wakes in a fantasy world as a small blue slime with the power to absorb and copy almost anything. Naming himself Rimuru, he befriends a sealed dragon, rescues goblins and slowly builds a town where monsters and humans can live together. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a cosy, clever nation-building isekai with plenty of action when diplomacy fails. What makes it special is how Rimuru solves problems: he would rather trade, negotiate and throw a festival than fight, so his tiny monster village grows step by step into the Jura Tempest Federation, a real nation with roads, baths, schools and allies. The politics, economics and everyday life of that growing country sit beside big battles against demon lords, holy knights and human kingdoms that fear what Tempest represents. Animated by Eight Bit, the series has run since 2018 across four seasons and two films, and its light novel source finished in 2025, so the whole journey is now mapped out.

KBKuroko's BasketballTV · 2012Kuroko's Basketball follows Tetsuya Kuroko, the near-invisible 'phantom sixth man' of Teiko Middle School's legendary Generation of Miracles. Now at Seirin High, he teams with fiery forward Taiga Kagami to beat his old teammates and prove teamwork wins. Animated by Production I.G from Tadatoshi Fujimaki's manga, the series ran for 75 episodes across three seasons (2012–2015) and finished in cinemas with the film Last Game in 2017. Kuroko's gift is being overlooked: coaches and crowds miss him completely, and he turns that lack of presence into laser-guided passes that thread entire defences. Kagami supplies what Kuroko lacks, height, power and a hunger to beat the five prodigies one by one. Around them, Seirin is an ordinary team with no history, built on trust by captain Hyuga, injured founder Kiyoshi and their tiny coach Riko. The result is a stylish, emotional take on basketball where every match asks the same question: can a team of friends outplay five geniuses who stopped believing in teams? Fast, funny and surprisingly moving, it remains one of the most popular sports anime of its generation.

The remake tells the Battle of Gods, Resurrection 'F' and Universe 6 arcs in a planned run of just 19 episodes, cutting the filler that slowed the original down.
