Appearance
The Angel Devil is an androgynously beautiful young-looking devil with shoulder-length reddish hair, a small halo floating above his head and white wings folded at his back, a storybook angel dropped into a devil hunter's uniform, which he wears with total indifference. His expression is usually a sleepy, mild blankness, broken by genuine interest only for food, especially soft-serve ice cream. His wings are not decoration: they can shield him like steel, and from them he pulls weapons made of stolen years. The prettiest member of Division 4 is also one of its most dangerous to stand close to, which suits him fine, closeness requires effort.
Personality
Angel is lazy in a way that borders on philosophy: he would rather lie down than walk, eat ice cream than work, and die quietly than struggle, a devil who finds existence mostly tiring. Born without the hatred of humans other devils carry, he is also haunted in fragments by a life he cannot fully remember, and by guilt he cannot place. His partnership with Aki slowly gives him something he has never had: a person whose company he prefers to solitude. Angel's arc is quiet and devastating, a being designed to take years from others, learning what it means that someone would spend theirs on him.
Background & Story
The Angel Devil was found by Public Safety in a coastal village where he had lived, impossibly, among humans who loved him, a past that survives in him only as fragments, because Makima found him first. Wiped of those memories and conscripted into Special Division 4, he serves as a hunter under the usual threat: work or be killed. His ability makes him invaluable and untouchable in the most literal sense, his skin steals lifespan from anyone who touches it, so he lives at arm's length from everyone. Assigned to work with Aki Hayakawa, the devil who asks for nothing slowly becomes part of the division's strange family, at exactly the distance his curse allows.
