About Piccolo

Piccolo is a Namekian warrior who began as Goku's demon-born rival and became one of Earth's most reliable defenders. He trained Gohan when no one else would, and the bond turned him into family. Stern, patient and tactically sharp, Piccolo is often the first to sense when a new enemy is beyond them, and the steady voice that keeps prouder fighters from charging in blindly.

Appearance

Piccolo is a tall, green-skinned Namekian with pointed ears, antennae, pink segmented patches on his arms and a stern, ageless face. He wears his trademark purple gi with a blue sash, brown shoes, and a white turban and cape, weighted, like all his clothing, that he discards for serious fights. In his Orange Piccolo form he grows massively, his skin turning orange and his bulk rivalling the saga's giants.

Personality

Piccolo is the Z Fighters' adult supervision: stern, patient, dry-humoured and tactically honest, the one who says 'we can't win this' while planning how to survive it anyway. The demon who once swore to conquer Earth became its most selfless defender, and the mechanism was a child: training Gohan melted him, and Piccolo has been the saga's quiet heart of sacrifice ever since, dying for the boy once and standing ready always. He meditates, trains alone, babysits Pan with total devotion, and answers every crisis first. If Goku is Earth's sword, Piccolo is its spine.

Background & Story

Piccolo was born as the reincarnation of Demon King Piccolo, created with his father's dying breath to avenge him on Goku, and lost to Goku at the World Tournament instead. When the Saiyans came, the demon made an unthinkable choice: he took Goku's son to train, and gave his life shielding the boy from Nappa's blast, dying a hero, in his own astonished words, because Gohan was the first person who did not fear him. Fused later with Nail and with Kami himself, Piccolo became a complete Namekian and Earth's guardian in fact. In Super he is the family's foundation: trainer of Gohan, grandfather in all but blood to Pan, and, with a wish of his own at last, the giant Orange Piccolo.

Powers & Abilities

• Special Beam Cannon (Makankosappo): Piccolo's drilling energy beam, charged at his forehead, a technique that pierces defences far above his own weight class.
• Regeneration and Namekian body: Piccolo regrows lost limbs, stretches his arms to enormous lengths, grows to giant size and survives wounds that would kill most beings.
• Orange Piccolo: Granted by Shenron's wish and awakened in battle, this form turns Piccolo into a massive orange powerhouse rivalling the saga's strongest.
• Hellzone Grenade and Light Grenade: Barrages of guided ki blasts that surround a target before converging, and a single devastating sphere of energy, his veteran's arsenal.
• Fusion and wisdom: Fused with Nail and Kami, Piccolo carries three lifetimes of Namekian knowledge, including the god's-eye view of Earth's guardian.

• Son Gohan: His student, his family, his reason, the bond that remade a demon into a hero and still defines him.
• Pan: His beloved grand-student; Piccolo trains and guards Gohan's daughter with a devotion everyone teases him about.
• Son Goku: His former mortal enemy, now his most trusted comrade, the two oldest rivals guard Earth together.
• Dende: The young Namekian he brought to be Earth's guardian, Piccolo watches over him as kin.
• Kami and Nail: The Namekians fused within him, his other selves, whose memories and wisdom he carries permanently.
