Mousse

About Mousse

Mousse is a master of hidden weapons from Shampoo's Amazon village, capable of producing chains, blades, bombs and the occasional rubber duck from his voluminous sleeves. He has loved Shampoo since childhood and blames Ranma entirely for his rejection. His one weakness is catastrophic eyesight: without his thick glasses he regularly confuses statues, strangers and Shampoo herself, with predictable results.

Appearance

Mousse is a tall teenager with long dark hair and very thick glasses, dressed in a loose white Chinese robe whose sleeves hide an impossible arsenal. Without his glasses he squints at posts and statues with complete sincerity.

Personality

Mousse is devoted, dramatic and self-pitying about Shampoo, and genuinely dangerous in a fight. His love is sincere even when his judgement is not, and his blindness without glasses turns many of his grand entrances into farce.

Background & Story

Mousse grew up in Joketsuzoku loving Shampoo, who never returned his feelings. He followed her to Japan convinced Ranma is the only obstacle between them, and challenges him repeatedly with weapons pulled from nowhere, chains, blades, bombs and kitchenware. His own Jusenkyo curse, from the Spring of Drowned Duck, adds one more humiliation he lays at Ranma's door.

Powers & Abilities

• Hidden weapons mastery: Mousse produces endless weapons and objects from his sleeves and robe, fighting with chains, blades and explosives from concealment.
• Jusenkyo curse form (duck): Cold water turns Mousse into a duck; hot water restores him.

Key Relationships

• Shampoo: His lifelong love, who mostly treats him as furniture.
• Ranma Saotome: His rival, blamed for Shampoo's rejection and for his duck curse.
• Cologne: The Amazon elder, whom he serves at the Cat Café while pursuing Shampoo.
