Mikasa Ackerman

About Mikasa Ackerman

Mikasa is one of humanity's strongest soldiers, a calm and devastating fighter whose Ackerman blood gives her extraordinary strength and reflexes. After losing her parents as a child, she was taken in by the Yeager family, and her devotion to Eren, marked by the red scarf he gave her, drives almost everything she does. Quiet, loyal and nearly unmatched in combat, she is the person everyone wants beside them when the Titans come.

Appearance

Mikasa has short black hair cut to chin length, dark grey eyes and a calm, serious face that rarely shows emotion. She is tall for her age and athletically built, with the bearing of a trained soldier even as a cadet. Almost always around her neck is a red scarf, worn in every season and setting, a gift from Eren that she treats as part of herself. In uniform she carries herself with a stillness that stands out beside louder comrades.

Personality

Mikasa is quiet, controlled and intensely protective, measuring the world by one standard: keeping Eren and her remaining loved ones alive. Losing her family twice taught her that the world is cruel and that beauty survives only for those strong enough to hold it, so she fights with a cold efficiency that unsettles even officers. She is not without warmth, she is gentle with friends and children, but she buries it under discipline. Her devotion can override orders and sense alike when Eren is threatened.

Background & Story

Mikasa was born to an Ackerman father and a mother from an Asian clan, living quietly outside the walls' main districts. When she was nine, traffickers murdered her parents and took her; Eren Yeager, whose father was visiting the family, found and rescued her, and the Yeagers adopted her into their home in Shiganshina. The red scarf Eren wrapped around her that day became her most treasured possession. A year later the Colossal Titan breached Wall Maria and she lost her second home, fleeing as a refugee. She enlisted with Eren and Armin, graduated at the very top of the 104th Cadet Corps, and joined the Survey Corps to stay at Eren's side.

Powers & Abilities

• Ackerman Awakening: Mikasa's bloodline grants her superhuman strength, speed and combat instinct far beyond ordinary soldiers once awakened.
• Top Graduate Skill: Mikasa ranked first in the 104th Cadet Corps, rated worth a hundred ordinary soldiers in Titan combat by her instructors.
• Vertical Manoeuvring Gear: Mikasa uses her mobility gear with elite precision, killing Titans cleanly while conserving gas and blades better than almost anyone.

Key Relationships

• Eren Yeager: Her adoptive brother in all but name and the centre of her world; the boy who saved her life and gave her the red scarf.
• Armin Arlert: Her childhood friend, whose mind she trusts completely and whom she protects as fiercely as Eren.
• Levi Ackerman: Her captain and a fellow Ackerman, whose strength she respects even when his treatment of Eren puts them at odds.
• Sasha Blouse: A close friend among the cadets, whose warmth draws out the softer side Mikasa rarely shows.
