Historia Reiss

About Historia Reiss

Historia Reiss joins the cadets under the name Krista Lenz, a sweet, selfless girl everyone calls a goddess for her kindness. In truth she is the hidden daughter of the Reiss family, raised in isolation and taught to erase herself. Her journey is about refusing that erasure: Historia slowly claims her real name, her difficult past and her right to choose her own life freely.

Appearance

Historia is the smallest soldier in her class at 145 cm, with long blonde hair, large blue eyes and a gentle, almost angelic face that makes classmates call her a goddess. As Krista she dresses and behaves with exaggerated sweetness, always neat and soft-spoken. As she claims her real name, her look barely changes but her bearing does, the practised smile gives way to direct, unflinching expressions that carry far more authority than her size suggests.

Personality

As Krista, Historia performs kindness compulsively, helpful, selfless and sweet to a degree that worries her friends, because it is partly a death wish: a girl taught she should never have been born, hoping to be remembered fondly when she dies. Her real self, buried under the performance, is sharper, angrier and far braver. Historia's journey is learning to live for herself rather than for approval, choosing her own name, her own side and her own life, even when every powerful person around her has a use for her bloodline.

Background & Story

Historia was born the illegitimate daughter of Rod Reiss, head of the family that truly rules inside the walls, and a servant in his household. Raised in isolation on a Reiss farm, shunned by her mother and ignored by her father, she was a lonely child who read about kindness in books because she never received it. After Wall Maria fell, her mother was killed in front of her and her father, instead of protecting her, exiled her into the military under a false name, Krista Lenz. There the 'goddess' persona wins her friends for the first time, and when soldiers come to exploit her bloodline, Historia must decide whether to keep erasing herself or finally stand up as who she is.
