Lero-Ro
From Tower of God
Lero-Ro is a Ranker who administers tests on Tower of God's second floor, a calm, observant examiner who quietly recognises that Bam is something the Tower has not seen before. He is voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda in Japanese and Trent Mills in English.
About Lero-Ro
Lero-Ro is a Ranker who administers tests on the second floor, a calm, observant examiner who quietly recognises that Bam is something the Tower has not seen before. He resigns rather than stop asking questions about what the tests are really for. His curiosity makes him one of the audience's first guides to the Tower's hidden machinery.
Appearance
Lero-Ro is a tall, calm man with short blond hair, relaxed eyes and the neat, understated dress of a test administrator rather than a warrior. Nothing about him is theatrical, which is precisely how Rankers hide in plain sight: his power shows only once, in a demonstration that silences a room of hundreds of Regulars. He has the bearing of a thoughtful schoolteacher: attentive, faintly amused, always watching the students rather than the test. Of all the Tower's officials, he is the one Regulars instinctively trust, and the story suggests their instinct is sound.
Personality
Lero-Ro is thoughtful, honest and incurious about everything except the truth. Where Hansung Yu plays games inside the system, Lero-Ro asks plain questions about it, what the tests select for, why an Irregular frightens the administration, what the Tower is actually doing to the people inside it. That honesty costs him his position, and he pays without drama. He is one of the audience's first guides to the Tower's hidden machinery precisely because he is the rare official who would rather understand the machine than operate it.
Background & Story
Lero-Ro is a Ranker administering tests on the Tower's second floor, the Floor of Tests, where he runs the famous shinsu wall examination that cuts hundreds of Regulars in an afternoon. Watching the survivors, he notices Bam, a boy with no training who passed through his shinsu as if it were weather, and begins, quietly, to ask what the Irregular actually is and what the tests are really for. Those questions make him dangerous to the wrong people: rather than stop asking, Lero-Ro resigns his post and leaves the floor, one of the first officials to step outside the machine to look at it.
Powers & Abilities
- Shinsu Wall: Lero-Ro's signature test: a vast wall of compressed shinsu that Regulars must pass through, a demonstration of Ranker-level shinsu control disguised as an exam.
Key Relationships
- Twenty-Fifth Bam: The Irregular whose impossible ease in his shinsu test starts Lero-Ro's questions, and eventually costs him his post.
- Hansung Yu: His fellow administrator and opposite: Hansung thrives inside the system's secrets, while Lero-Ro resigns rather than stop questioning them.
- Quant Blitz: His fellow test administrator on the second floor, the excitable Quant and the thoughtful Lero-Ro run the Floor of Tests as a double act.
