Ehwa Yeon

About Ehwa Yeon

Ehwa is an heir of the Yeon Family, famous for her beauty, pride and flames she cannot fully control, which famously set her own teammates alight. Assigned to the same 20th-floor team as Viole, she slowly sees past FUG's monster to the person inside. Her growth from sheltered princess to dependable wave controller mirrors the team's own.

Appearance

Ehwa is a beautiful young woman with long pink hair, red-pink eyes and the polished bearing of a Great Family heiress, dressed in fine clothes that mark her Yeon Family status even on a test floor. Fire is part of her silhouette whether she wants it or not: flames wick from her hands and hair when her control slips, which is often, usually at the moment of maximum embarrassment. She looks like a princess from a storybook about princesses; the comedy is that her own power treats her like a novice, and her pride is in constant negotiation with the evidence.

Personality

Ehwa is proud, sheltered and sincere. She grew up being told her bloodline made her exceptional, and she believed it in the simple way of someone never allowed to fail safely. Her flames embarrass her precisely because they expose the gap between the legend and the girl. She is not a snob at heart: she is kind, easily flustered and genuinely horrified when her power hurts people. Among Wangnan's team of failures she learns the thing her family never taught her, how to be useful rather than impressive, and her growth tracks the team's own.

Background & Story

Ehwa Yeon is a direct descendant of the Yeon Family, one of the Ten Great Families, famous across the Tower for producing the most gifted flame users of any bloodline. Ehwa inherited the family's flames and its pride in equal measure, and very little of its control, having set teammates alight more than once. Assigned to the 20th floor, she lands in the same test team as Ja Wangnan and the masked FUG slayer candidate Viole. Living at close quarters with commoners, debtors and a supposed monster strips her sheltered certainties one by one, and the heiress slowly becomes the team's dependable wave controller.

Powers & Abilities

• Yeon Family Flames: Ehwa's inherited flames are among the most destructive of any Regular's, when she can aim them. Her control, not her power, is the work in progress.
• Wave Controller: As her control grows, Ehwa fights as a wave controller, shaping shinsu at range to support her team, the role her bloodline was supposed to make effortless.

Key Relationships

• Ja Wangnan: The penniless team leader whose ordinary decency keeps challenging everything her family taught her about worth.
• Twenty-Fifth Bam: The FUG slayer candidate Viole, whom she fears on reputation and slowly sees past, to the person her team's survival depends on.
• Yeo Miseng: The youngest member of Wangnan's team, Ehwa's sheltered pride softens fastest around the little girl the whole team protects.
