Ken Ryuguji

About Ken Ryuguji

Ken Ryuguji, known as Draken, was the vice-leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang and Mikey's closest friend, the heart that kept the gang, and Mikey, human. Tall, tattooed and terrifying in a fight, he was also the one who cooked, mediated and forgave. Draken's fate across the timelines is one of the story's deepest wounds, and his absence in the Three Titans era is exactly the kind of loss that pushed Mikey toward the darkness.

Appearance

Draken is one of the tallest teenagers in the story at 185 cm, broad and heavily muscled, with long blond hair shaved at the sides to show the dragon tattoo curling across his temple. He wears Toman's uniform like a soldier and carries himself with a lazy, unshakeable confidence. The tattoo, the height and the stare do most of his intimidating for him, his actual manner is far warmer.

Personality

Draken is Toman's conscience. Hot-headed in a fight but level everywhere else, he is the one who apologises for Mikey's messes, feeds his friends, breaks up stupid quarrels and thinks about consequences. He grew up with nothing and built his code himself: bow to no one, protect your own, and never drag the weak into delinquent wars. His loyalty to Mikey is absolute, but it is the loyalty of an equal, not a follower.

Background & Story

Ken Ryuguji was abandoned as a small child and raised in a massage parlour in Shibuya, growing up among the women who worked there and the streets around it. He met Mikey as a boy, sent to beat him up, he came back as his friend instead, and together they founded the Tokyo Manji Gang, with Draken as its vice-leader and beating heart. Across the timelines, Draken's fate is one of the story's deepest wounds: futures where he is lost are futures where Mikey falls. By the Three Titans era, his absence hangs over everything Takemichi is trying to fix.

Powers & Abilities

• Street Fighting Strength (skill): Draken's size, reach and raw power make him one of Toman's strongest fighters, able to take on groups of delinquents alone.

Key Relationships

• Manjiro Sano: Mikey, his best friend and the leader he serves as vice-commander; Draken is the person Mikey trusts most in the world.
• Takemichi Hanagaki: Takemichi earns Draken's respect by standing his ground, and Draken becomes one of his staunchest supporters inside Toman.
• Takashi Mitsuya: A fellow founding member and captain, the two are Toman's steady adults, often handling what Mikey's whims leave behind.
