About Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez

The Sexta Espada, Aizen's sixth-ranked Arrancar, and Ichigo's most personal rival in Hueco Mundo. Grimmjow lives to fight strong opponents and despises being looked down on; he defies orders, saves Ichigo's life once so they can settle things fairly, and demands a rematch at full strength. His panther-like Resurrección and wild, honest brutality made him a fan favourite who returns in the final war on the Soul Society's side.

Appearance

Grimmjow is a tall, lean Arrancar with spiky light-blue hair, teal eyes with cat-like markings at the corners, and the remains of a Hollow mask, a jawbone fragment, clamped on his right cheek. He wears the white Arrancar uniform cropped open at the chest, with his hakama loose and his sword at the hip. His Hollow hole sits at his abdomen. Released, his body turns sleek and feline: claws, a long tail, pointed ears and armour-like white plating, built for speed and tearing.

Personality

There's one insult Grimmjow can't let stand: being looked down on. Everything else slides off. That one starts a war. He treats fighting as the only honest conversation strong people can have, and he keeps his own rough code inside the violence. Debts get repaid. A rival beaten at half strength proves nothing, so he'll save the enemy he wants to kill and demand the real fight later. Orders bore him, allies bore him, Aizen's contempt enraged him. What he respects is simple and he'll tell you himself, usually while grinning through blood: power, and the nerve to use it.

Background & Story

Grimmjow began as a panther-like Hollow in Hueco Mundo who devoured his way up the food chain with a pack of fellow Hollows at his side, followers who eventually begged him to eat them rather than let their evolution stall. Aizen remade him as an Arrancar and ranked him Sexta, sixth of the Espada. Sent to Karakura Town, he found in Ichigo the first opponent he truly wanted, and their feud ran through the whole Hueco Mundo campaign: an invasion fought against orders, an arm lost as punishment and restored, and a final duel in Las Noches fought for pride alone. He survived the war's fall, and returned in the final conflict, on the Soul Society's side, still asking after his rematch.

Powers & Abilities

• Resurreccion: Pantera: Releasing his Zanpakuto turns him feline, claws, tail, armour and a huge leap in speed and strength, with sonic roars that shake the air.
• Desgarron: His greatest technique: enormous claws of spirit energy extend from his fingertips, long enough to tear through pillars and sky.
• Cero and Bala: Like all Espada he fires the Hollow energy blast Cero, his from the palm, in his signature blue, and rapid-fire Bala bolts.

Key Relationships

• Ichigo Kurosaki: His chosen rival, the only enemy Grimmjow respects, and the rematch he refuses to let death cancel.
• Sosuke Aizen: The master who gave him rank and power, and whose contempt Grimmjow never forgave.
