Emilia

About Emilia

Emilia is a silver-haired half-elf and a candidate to rule the kingdom of Lugunica, kind to a fault in a country that fears her resemblance to the Witch of Envy. She contracts the great spirit Puck and works as a butler-supported candidate from Roswaal's mansion. Her dream is simple and radical: a kingdom where everyone is treated equally.

Appearance

Emilia is a beautiful young half-elf with very long silver hair, purple-blue eyes and pointed ears, usually wearing a white and purple outfit with a flower-shaped hair ornament. Her resemblance to the Witch of Envy, silver hair, half-elf blood, is so strong that strangers flinch from her in the street. Up close, the effect is ruined by her earnest, slightly old-fashioned way of speaking and her complete inability to look frightening for long.

Personality

Emilia is gentle, earnest and stubbornly hopeful. She treats everyone, thieves, spirits, political rivals, with the same open kindness, and dreams of a Lugunica where no one is judged by birth. That idealism sits on top of real insecurity: she knows the whole country fears her face, and she works twice as hard to be twice as good in answer. She can be naive about people's motives and hopeless with social cues, but her resolve, once she chooses her path, is genuinely unshakeable.

Background & Story

Emilia is a half-elf girl raised in the forest of Elior, where she lived with her aunt Fortuna among the elves before disaster froze the forest and everyone in it. She woke a century later with gaps in her memory and entered the royal selection as a candidate for Lugunica's throne, backed by the margrave Roswaal and partnered with the great spirit Puck. The story begins when her royal insignia is stolen in the capital, and a strange boy with no power at all insists, for reasons she cannot understand, on helping her get it back.

Powers & Abilities

• Spirit arts and ice magic: Contracted with spirits, Emilia fights with powerful ice and healing magic, shaping spears, shields and storms of ice.
• Puck's contract: Her partner Puck, a great spirit of fire in a cat-like form, fights beside her and protects her during the day.
• Micro-spirit affinity: Lesser spirits gather to Emilia naturally, supporting her healing and spirit arts.

Key Relationships

• Subaru Natsuki: The powerless boy who keeps saving her without explanation; she slowly becomes the person who most wants to save him back.
• Puck: Her contracted great spirit and father figure, who has guarded her since she woke from the ice.
• Roswaal L Mathers: Her backer in the royal selection, whose support comes with an agenda she does not fully know.
• Ram: The mansion's senior maid, who serves Emilia's camp with sharp words and absolute efficiency.
