Is Fall in Love, You False Angels out in January 2027?

Not confirmed. ComicBook has reported a January release as part of the Winter 2027 lineup, but MAPPA's official press release says only that it is set to premiere in 2027, with no month given. No streaming platform has been announced either. Treat January as a report to watch, not a date to plan around, until the official announcement confirms it.

Q: What new anime is coming in January 2027?

The short answer: the dates to circle

January 2027 has one exact date so far, and it's a good one. Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 lands on Netflix on 19 January 2027, with 6 episodes. The month's other confirmed returns, Mashle Season 3 on Crunchyroll and Ramen Akaneko Season 2, are set for January 2027 but don't have an exact day yet. January also brings advance preview screenings for Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspal, ahead of its full release later in 2027. One more title, Fall in Love, You False Angels, has been reported for January, but that is reported, not confirmed, and we say so plainly below.

Confirmed January 2027 premieres

Mashle Season 3, on Crunchyroll

Mashle: Magic and Muscles returns with Season 3 in January 2027 on Crunchyroll. That's the confirmed part: the month, and the platform. No exact day has been announced yet. If you're new to it, you've got the weeks before January to catch up on the earlier seasons, which is honestly the fun part. Our Mashle Season 3 report covers the release, the arc and what to watch first in more detail.

Ramen Akaneko Season 2

Ramen Akaneko is back for Season 2 in January 2027. A new key visual and a new cast member have been revealed, but there's no exact date yet. So put it on your January list, just don't circle a specific day. We'll add the date here as soon as it's confirmed.

Blue Eye Samurai Season 2, 19 January on Netflix

This is the month's one firm date, so plan around it. Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 premieres on Netflix on 19 January 2027, with 6 episodes. After a wait of more than three years since the first season, that's the return a lot of people have been holding out for. If you haven't watched Season 1 yet, January gives you a clear deadline to finish it by.

January event screenings: Code Geass, Star Chaser Aspal

Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspal has advance preview screenings planned for January 2027. Be clear about what that means, though. These are preview screenings ahead of the full release, which comes later in 2027 through event screenings. No exact January date for the previews has been confirmed, and this is not a regular weekly series starting in January. It's a first chance to see it early, if you're lucky enough to be near one of the screenings.

Reported for January, awaiting confirmation: Fall in Love, You False Angels

This one needs careful wording, so here it is plainly. Fall in Love, You False Angels has been reported by ComicBook as a January release, as part of the Winter 2027 lineup. It has not been confirmed for January. MAPPA's official press release says only that it is set to premiere in 2027, with no month given.

What is confirmed is the lead cast, revealed on 12 September: Nao Ojika as Otogi Katsura and Taito Ban as Toki Ninomae. No streaming platform has been announced. So if you see January stated as a fact elsewhere, treat it with caution. It might turn out to be right, but right now the official word is just 2027, and we'll update this section the moment that changes.
