Blue Box Season 2 is the second season of the sports romance anime adapted from Kouji Miura's manga. It premiered on 4 October 2026 on TBS, streams worldwide on Netflix, and is planned at 12 episodes. Taiki and Chinatsu's slow-burn story continues under one roof, complicated by the return of Chinatsu's former teammate Yumeka Kido.
About Blue Box Season 2
Taiki Inomata is a badminton player at Eimei, a school famous for sports, and he has a hopeless crush on Chinatsu Kano, the girls' basketball ace a year above him. When Chinatsu's parents move abroad for work, she comes to live at the Inomata family home, and suddenly the girl Taiki admires from afar is at his breakfast table every morning. Season 2 premiered on 4 October 2026 on TBS, with Netflix streaming worldwide. It picks up exactly where Season 1 ended: Taiki on the edge of confessing his feelings, only for the moment to be cut short by the return of Yumeka Kido, Chinatsu's estranged former teammate. Behind the scenes there are changes too. Daisuke Sako takes over as director and Electric Circus replaces Telecom Animation Film as the animation studio, with planning still by UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS. The season is planned at 12 episodes. The romance stays gentle and the sports stay serious: every confession is earned through training montages, tournaments and the small daily courage of living under the same roof.
Blue Box Season 2 is a TV anime from 2026, first released in Fall 2026. It belongs to the Romance and Sports genres and is listed as currently airing. The summary above is written by the AnimeYug team in our own words.

Story & Plot
Blue Box is a story about two kinds of wanting. Taiki wants Chinatsu, and wants just as badly to stand beside her as an athlete, which means reaching the national badminton tournament she already expects to reach in basketball. Chinatsu, quiet and self-contained, is carrying her own pressures: a team that leans on her, a past she does not talk about, and now a housemate whose earnestness keeps getting past her guard.
Season 1 built their slow closeness out of morning practices, shared commutes and one almost-confession after another, with Hina Chono, Taiki's gymnast friend, realising her own feelings too late to keep things simple. Season 2 raises the emotional stakes: Yumeka Kido, who once played beside Chinatsu, returns with unfinished business, and Chinatsu has to decide what her past, her team and Taiki each mean to her.
Nothing here is rushed, and that is the point. Blue Box treats first love the way it treats sport, as something you improve at daily, in small increments, mostly by showing up.
