Tsuyu Asui
From My Hero Academia
Tsuyu Asui, called Tsu, is a supporting character in My Hero Academia, a Class 1-A student whose Frog Quirk gives her every ability a frog has, from a twenty-metre tongue to wall-climbing and camouflage. She is voiced by Aoi Yuki in Japanese and Monica Rial in English.
About Tsuyu Asui
Tsuyu Asui, called Tsu by her friends, has a Frog Quirk that lets her jump great distances, climb walls, stick out a very long tongue and swim like a natural. She is calm under pressure, speaks her mind plainly and often says exactly what everyone else is thinking. Her steady head makes her a rock for Class 1-A.
Appearance
Tsuyu has very long dark green hair tied in a large bow-like loop at the bottom, big round black eyes and a wide mouth that gives her a gentle, frog-like face. She is short and walks with a slight hunch, often holding a finger to her mouth when thinking. Her hero costume is a green bodysuit with tan gloves, goggles and flippers styled after a frog, with a harness for carrying equipment. In cold weather she becomes visibly sluggish, a detail classmates learn quickly.
Personality
Tsuyu is calm, level-headed and famously blunt, she says plainly what others only think, and asks friends to call her Tsu. In emergencies she is one of the steadiest heads in Class 1-A, assessing danger and coordinating rescues while others panic. She is also deeply empathetic and acts as an emotional anchor, the one who breaks down honestly after a crisis so the class can face its feelings. Her directness is never cruelty; it comes from a belief that honest words help people.
Background & Story
Tsuyu grew up as the eldest child of a busy family, largely raising her younger brother and sister while her parents worked long hours, the source of her maturity and her caretaker's instinct. She had few close friends in middle school, partly because her blunt manner and frog-like features kept classmates at a distance. At U.A. she finally finds her people in Class 1-A, where her steadiness proves itself early: in the class's first real villain attack she keeps her head, uses her abilities cleverly and saves her classmates' lives in the water zone. She trains toward rescue work, where her swimming, climbing and calm make her a natural.
