Hawks
From My Hero Academia
Hawks, real name Keigo Takami, is a supporting character in My Hero Academia, the winged number two hero whose Fierce Wings let him fly and control every feather as a tool or blade. He is voiced by Yuichi Nakamura in Japanese and Zeno Robinson in English.
About Hawks
Hawks, real name Keigo Takami, is the winged number two hero, famous for being almost too fast for his own good. His Fierce Wings Quirk lets him fly and control each feather like a blade or a rescue tool. Easy-going on camera, he also works deep undercover, playing a dangerous double game between heroes and villains.
Appearance
Hawks is a young man of average height with messy blond hair, golden-brown eyes with distinctive dark markings around them, and a light stubble. Two large red wings grow from his back. His hero costume is built for the sky: a black and gold flight jacket with fur-like trim, a yellow visor and headphones to protect his ears at high speed, and a headset for communication. His easy grin and casual slouch make him look more like a pop star than the country's number two hero.
Personality
Hawks performs easy-going charm the way other heroes perform strength, he is breezy, funny and openly says he wants a world where heroes have too much free time. Underneath is one of the sharpest minds among heroes: observant, calculating and comfortable with moral compromise. Trained since childhood to be an asset, he genuinely wants to help people but has been used as a tool by his handlers for so long that playing double agent comes naturally. His loneliness shows in how much he values the few honest connections he makes.
Background & Story
Keigo Takami grew up in poverty with a criminal father on the run and a neglectful mother, clutching an Endeavor toy as his one picture of a hero. When his feather saved people during a highway accident as a small child, the Hero Public Safety Commission took notice, bought custody of him from his mother and raised him in secret training to become a hero they could direct, even erasing his family name. As Hawks he debuted at eighteen and reached the top ten faster than anyone in history, becoming number two after All Might's retirement. His public rise is only half his job: the Commission also sends him to infiltrate the League of Villains, the most dangerous assignment of his life.
