Nagisa Natsunagi is the girl who walked into Kimihiko's quiet life asking him to find the person whose heart now beats inside her. That heart once belonged to Siesta, and it gives Nagisa flashes of the dead detective's feelings and will. Brave, honest and quick to act, she becomes Kimihiko's new partner in his cases and the emotional centre of the team that forms around Siesta's legacy.

Nagisa is an eighteen-year-old with very long black hair tied in a side ponytail with a red ribbon, fading to lighter tips, and red-brown eyes. She is usually in her school uniform or simple, practical clothes. There is a directness in how she stands and speaks, chin up, no hesitation, that makes her look older than the frail hospital child she used to be.
Personality
Nagisa is strong-willed, honest and quick to throw herself into danger for other people. A childhood spent in hospital beds left her with no patience for wasting the life she was given back. She can be blunt to the point of rudeness and hides embarrassment behind anger, but her instincts about people are sharp, and her determination to earn the heart beating in her chest drives her to become a detective herself.
Background & Story
Nagisa spent much of her childhood in hospital with a serious heart condition, watching school and ordinary life pass her by. A year before the story, she received a heart transplant from an unknown donor, and woke with feelings and impulses that were not hers, including an overwhelming need to find someone she could not name. She hired Kimihiko Kimizuka, the boy known for solving incidents, to find that person. The search revealed the donor was Siesta herself, and turned Nagisa from a client into Kimihiko's partner in the detective's unfinished war.
