Iris
From Fire Force
Iris is a Sister of the Holy Sol Temple serving with Fire Force's Company 8, whose prayers, 'Látom', lay Infernal souls to rest. She has no powers at all, which makes her the brigade's conscience. She is voiced by M.A.O in Japanese and Alexis Tipton in English.
About Iris
Iris is a Sister of the Holy Sol Temple who serves with Company 8, offering the prayers, 'Látom', that send Infernal souls to rest. She has no powers at all, which makes her the brigade's conscience: the reminder of why they fight. As the Temple's secrets surface, Iris's quiet faith is tested harder than anyone's. Her gentleness is not weakness; it is the point of the whole brigade.
Appearance
Iris is a petite girl of sixteen with short blond hair, blue eyes and a perpetually gentle expression. She wears the white habit of a Sister of the Holy Sol Temple over or instead of a firefighter's uniform, a cross at her throat. In a brigade of soldiers and pyrokinetics, she is visibly the softest person present, which is precisely her function, and her courage.
Personality
Iris is kind, devout and quietly brave. She walks into infernos unarmed because someone must pray for the burning, and she does it every time. Her faith is not naive: as the Temple's secrets surface, her beliefs are tested harder than anyone's in the brigade. What survives the testing is the point of her character, gentleness chosen, again and again, with open eyes.
Background & Story
Iris was raised within the Holy Sol Temple, the church that stands at the centre of the Tokyo Empire's faith, and assigned to Company 8 as its Sister. Her role is essential and unglamorous: when an Infernal is defeated, Iris offers the prayer that sends its soul to rest. She has no ignition ability and no combat training, yet she goes where the brigade goes. As Company 8's investigations begin to uncover what the Temple has hidden, Iris's quiet faith becomes one of the story's most important battlegrounds, the Empire's religion measured against one honest believer.
