Flashy Flash

About Flashy Flash

Flashy Flash is an S-Class ninja hero whose speed leaves even other S-Class heroes behind, a graduate of the same village system that produced Sonic. Vain about his name, his hair and his ranking among the fast, he is nonetheless a genuine professional in battle. In the Monster Association's tunnels he crosses blades with ninja monsters from his own past, and takes an unexpected interest in Saitama.

Appearance

Flashy Flash is a strikingly beautiful man with very long blond hair, sharp elegant features and a slim, dancer-like build. He wears a white cloak over his hero outfit with ornamental hairpieces, and carries his katana Instakill with a performer's flair. Everything about his presentation is deliberate, the name, the hair, the poses, and everything about his speed is real: in battle he is simply absent from where opponents are looking.

Personality

Flashy Flash is vain, precise and theatrically serious about his image, his name, hair and reputation as the fastest are all carefully maintained brands. Unlike Sonic, though, the professionalism underneath is genuine: he is disciplined in battle, fulfils his missions cleanly, and recognises superior skill without excuses when he finally meets it. His vanity is a surface over a craftsman's core, and his growing interest in Saitama is the craftsman speaking.

Background & Story

Flashy Flash was raised in the same hidden ninja village system that produced Sonic, trained from childhood as an assassin in the village's brutal programme, from which he graduated as one of its finest products before turning hero. Now S-Class, he treats speed as both craft and identity, policing his ranking among the fast with comic vanity. In the Monster Association's tunnels he meets monsters from his own village's dark past, fellow graduates twisted into something else, and crosses paths with Saitama, whose casual speed plants the first seed of professional doubt he has ever had.

Powers & Abilities

• Blinding Speed: Flashy Flash moves faster than other S-Class heroes can follow, chaining slashes and repositioning so quickly he leaves afterimages, speed honed by a lifetime of ninja training.
• Instakill Swordsmanship: His katana work is built for single decisive cuts at maximum velocity, ending fights in the instant he passes an opponent.

Key Relationships

• Speed-o'-Sound Sonic: A fellow product of the ninja village, the professional and the obsessive, two answers to the same upbringing.
• Saitama: The hero whose unseen speed genuinely impresses him; Flashy Flash takes a craftsman's interest in the man nobody else can measure.
• Tatsumaki: A fellow S-Class whose power he respects and whose temper he navigates with the ease of a man used to dangerous colleagues.
