Evil Eye
From Dandadan
Evil Eye is a supporting character in Dandadan, the vengeful spirit of a boy sacrificed by the Kito family generations ago, who possesses Jiji's body to rampage. He is voiced by Mutsumi Tamura in Japanese and Anne Yatco in English.
About Evil Eye
Evil Eye is the spirit of a boy who was sacrificed by the Kito family generations ago and left to suffer alone. Twisted by that cruelty, he hates all humans and possesses Jiji's body to rampage. Yet there is still a lonely child inside the monster, one who loves playing soccer and only wants, at last, to be put to rest.
Appearance
Evil Eye's true form is a small, pale child-spirit with wild white hair, dark hollow eyes and a loincloth-like garment, a murdered child frozen at the age of his death. When he possesses Jiji's body, the difference is unmistakable: Jiji's hair whitens, a third-eye-like mark and jagged patterns appear, and his grin turns feral. Everything about the possessed form is wrong-footed and gleeful, like a child playing a game whose rules are violence.
Personality
Evil Eye is rage and loneliness fused together. He hates humans absolutely, because humans murdered him and abandoned him; he also desperately wants to play, because he was a child and no one ever did. His tantrums are apocalyptic and his joys are heartbreakingly small. Surviving him is only half the group's problem. The other half is deciding what justice even means for a monster who is also a victim.
Background & Story
Generations ago, the Kito family sacrificed a young boy to the giant worm beneath their village and left his spirit to suffer alone underground. That cruelty made the Evil Eye: a spirit who hates all humans and wants only to make them suffer as he did. When Jiji's family moved into the Kito's old house, the Evil Eye found his host. Possessing Jiji, he becomes one of the most dangerous beings Momo's group faces, yet the spirit is still, underneath everything, a lonely child who loves soccer and has never once been played with.
Powers & Abilities
