Story & Plot
For generations, the descendants of the Oni and the descendants of the folk hero Momotaro have fought a hidden war. Shiki Ichinose, a loud troublemaker raised by a kind foster father, learned the truth the day a Momotaro agent came for him: Oni blood runs in his veins, and it wakes when he bleeds. Taken to Rasetsu Academy, the school that trains Oni under the strict teacher Naito Mudano, Shiki slowly turned classmates into comrades through the battles of Kyoto and Nerima.
The Nikko Kegon Falls Arc begins when one of those comrades walks away. Ikari Yaoroshi leaves the academy to join the Oni Brigade, an unaffiliated Oni army led by the charismatic Hayate Todoroki that wants the total extermination of the Momotaro, including noncombatants. Shiki follows him to Nikko, where the Momotaro Agency's Kegon Falls branch runs a laboratory carrying out cruel experiments. Caught between the Brigade's vengeance, the Agency's science and his own Kishin blood, Shiki has to decide what kind of Oni he wants to be.
