Shiki Ichinose

About Shiki Ichinose

Shiki Ichinose is a loud, reckless teenager whose life changed the day a Momotaro agent attacked his home and killed his foster father. In that moment his dormant Oni blood woke, giving him the power to shape his own blood into weapons. Now a student at Rasetsu Academy, Shiki fights to protect other Oni and to become someone his father would be proud of, even as his rare Kishin blood makes him a target for every side.

Appearance

Shiki is a teenager of 174 cm with tousled blue-black hair, blue eyes and two small moles beneath his left eye. He wears Rasetsu Academy's uniform with a delinquent's looseness, and when his Oni blood wakes, horns rise from his head and his blood pours out to take the shape of firearms. Even before his powers, he carried himself like a street punk; afterwards, he looks like a street punk the world has decided to hunt.

Personality

Shiki is loud, reckless, soft-hearted and quick with his fists, a delinquent whose first instinct is always to stand in front of someone weaker. He loves guns with an enthusiast's glee, hates ghosts, mourns openly and rages openly; nothing in him is hidden or calculated. His drive comes from his foster father's death: Shiki is determined to become someone that man would be proud of, and to build a world where Oni children do not have to hide what they are.

Background & Story

Shiki Ichinose grew up as an ordinary, if delinquent, teenager, raised by his foster father Tsuyoshi, never knowing he carried the blood of the Oni, the horned people hunted for generations by the Momotaro. When a Momotaro agent attacked their home and Tsuyoshi died protecting him, Shiki's dormant blood erupted in grief and rage, shaping itself into weapons. Taken in by the Oni Agency, he enrols at Rasetsu Academy, the school that trains Oni to fight the Momotaro Agency's extermination campaign. There Shiki learns what he is: one of the rare Children of Kishin, born with overwhelming Oni power, which makes him a target for the Momotaro, a prize for rogue Oni factions, and a hope for his classmates all at once.

• Enki: Child of Kishin (Fire): As one of the eight Children of Kishin, Shiki carries the fire attribute: his body is wreathed in flame and resists fire when his Kishin power rises, at great physical cost.
• Berserk State: When Shiki's rage overwhelms his control, his Oni blood runs wild, a berserk state of enormous destructive power that he cannot aim or remember clearly.

Key Relationships
