Kyoya Oiranzaka is a flamboyant doctor who works with the Oni Agency, running the hospital that treats Oni wounded in the war against the Momotaro. Eccentric, theatrical and far sharper than he acts, he understands Oni bodies, and Oni blood, better than almost anyone alive. That knowledge makes him an ally Shiki's class cannot do without, and a man whose cheerful bedside manner hides how much of this war's cost he has personally seen.

Kyoya is an elegant, theatrical man whose dress and manner owe more to a stage performer than a surgeon, flourishes, flair and perfect composure included. The performance is deliberate camouflage: underneath it is one of the sharpest medical minds on the Oni side, and eyes that have counted the war's cost body by body.

Kyoya is eccentric, flirtatious in manner and ruthlessly competent. He turns bedside care into theatre because frightened patients need a performance to hold onto, and because he enjoys it. His cheer is a professional instrument; privately, few people alive understand Oni bodies and Oni blood better, or have seen more clearly what this war does to both.

Kyoya Oiranzaka works with the Oni Agency as the doctor in charge of the hospital where Oni wounded are treated, the place Rasetsu Academy's students end up when the Momotaro draw blood. His knowledge of Oni physiology makes him indispensable to the war effort and to Shiki's class in particular: he treats their injuries, reads their blood, and understands what powers like Shiki's are doing to the bodies that carry them. His cheerful manner at the bedside hides how much of this war's cost he has personally tallied.
