About Myne Sophia
Myne, born Princess Malty, is the eldest princess of Melromarc whose false accusation destroyed Naofumi's life in his first days in this world. Beautiful, manipulative and pathologically selfish, she schemes through every season, dragging heroes and kingdoms into her plots. Few anime villains are hated as consistently, or punished as publicly, as she is.
Appearance
Myne, born Princess Malty, is a beautiful young woman with long wavy red hair, green eyes and a warm, practised smile, dressed in fine clothes suited to a princess playing at adventuring. Every part of her presentation is designed: the sweetness, the vulnerability, the tears that arrive exactly when a hero needs to feel protective. People who have seen her without an audience describe a different face entirely: cold, contemptuous and bored. The gap between the two is the character: Malty is never more dangerous than when she is smiling at someone who trusts her.
Personality
Malty is beautiful, manipulative and selfish to a degree the story treats as almost diagnostic: she lies compulsively, betrays reflexively and feels entitled to everything she can take. She is also genuinely clever in the short term, her framing of Naofumi is perfectly judged for Melromarc's prejudices, and completely incapable of the long term, because everyone she uses eventually learns what she is. Few anime villains are hated as consistently as Malty, and the story leans into it: she is the human engine of Naofumi's suffering, and the kingdom's reckoning with her is one of its most public satisfactions.
Background & Story
Malty S Melromarc is the eldest princess of Melromarc, passed over in the succession in favour of her younger sister, a humiliation she has never forgiven her mother for. When the Cardinal Heroes are summoned, she moves first: she offers herself as the Shield Hero's only companion, then robs him in the night and accuses him of a crime he did not commit, destroying his name within days of his arrival. It is not impulse; it is method. Malty schemes the way other people breathe, attaching herself to whichever hero, church or kingdom serves her next step, and discarding allies, family and countries as the board changes. In a story full of monsters, she is the purely human kind.
Powers & Abilities
- Fire Magic: As an adventurer in the Spear Hero's party, Malty fights as a mage, casting fire spells from the back line while others hold the front.
Key Relationships
- Naofumi Iwatani: The hero she robbed and framed within days of his summoning, the betrayal that defines his story and, eventually, her punishment.
- Motoyasu Kitamura: Her favourite instrument: the Spear Hero believes her completely, and she spends his strength on her schemes for as long as it lasts.
- Mirellia Q Melromarc: Her mother, the queen, who passed her over for the throne and who punishes her treachery without mercy, the family wound under all of Malty's scheming.
- Melty Q Melromarc: Her younger sister and the heir chosen over her, Melty's decency is the standing rebuke to everything Malty chose to be.
