Melty Q Melromarc
Melty Q Melromarc is the second princess of Melromarc in The Rising of the Shield Hero: first in line to the throne, and the sensible, kind-hearted sister sent to befriend the Shield Hero. She is voiced by Maaya Uchida in Japanese and Jackie Lastra in English.
About Melty Q Melromarc
Melty is the second princess of Melromarc and first in line to the throne, a sensible, kind-hearted girl sent to build the friendship with the Shield Hero that her older sister destroyed. Her love of filorials makes her Filo's best friend within minutes. Caught between her scheming family and her conscience, she chooses what is right at real personal risk.
Appearance
Melty is a young girl with long wavy blue hair, blue eyes and the neat, formal bearing of a princess raised for a throne, usually in a white-and-blue royal dress. Her great exception to royal dignity is filorials: near one of the great birds her composure dissolves into pure delight. She is small next to the heroes and soldiers around her, and completely unafraid of any of them, a child who has been trained since birth to address courts, and who speaks to kings, heroes and monsters in the same clear, reasonable voice.
Personality
Melty is sensible, kind and remarkably brave for a sheltered princess. Raised by Mirellia to rule, duty and fairness come first for her, and she is honest enough to be ashamed of what her family did to Naofumi. She is still a child, her filorial obsession is pure ten-year-old joy, but when the kingdom's politics turn dangerous she consistently chooses what is right over what is safe, even against her own father. Her decency is the first evidence Naofumi ever gets that Melromarc itself might be worth the world he is saving.
Background & Story
Melty is the second princess of Melromarc, and by her mother's design, first in line to the throne ahead of her older sister Malty. Sent by Queen Mirellia to repair the kingdom's relationship with the Shield Hero, she arrives to find Naofumi hated, hunted and entirely unwilling to trust another Melromarc princess, for excellent reasons. Her friendship with Filo, formed within minutes over their shared love of filorials, becomes the crack in that wall. Melty then has to do something no one else in her family managed: earn the Shield Hero's trust by conduct, while her own father and sister's schemes put her in danger for it.
