L'Arc is a tall, easy-going young man with messy red hair, a roguish grin and the relaxed posture of a man in a tavern rather than a war. He wears light, open clothing suited to travel, and carries his Vassal Scythe, a huge bladed weapon he handles as casually as a walking stick. Everything about him invites underestimation: the laugh, the slouch, the friendliness. Then a fight starts and the scythe moves like it weighs nothing, and the room recalibrates. He looks like Naofumi's drinking buddy because, given half a chance, that is exactly what he would be.

L'Arc is the Scythe Hero of Glass's world, one of its Vassal Weapon bearers, sent with Glass and Therese into Naofumi's world on his world's desperate business. The mission goes sideways almost immediately: L'Arc meets Naofumi on Cal Mira island without knowing who he is, and the two simply get along: drinking, levelling and joking like old friends. Learning that his new friend is the Shield Hero he may have to fight does not end the friendship; it complicates it. L'Arc keeps choosing the person in front of him over the war between worlds, and his loyalty becomes one of the few bridges between them.
