Mirajane Strauss
From Fairy Tail
Mirajane Strauss is a supporting character in Fairy Tail, an S-Class wizard whose Take Over magic lets her assume demon forms as Satan Soul, feared in her youth as 'the Demon Mirajane' and now the guild's sweet barmaid and cover model. She is voiced by Ryoko Ono in Japanese and Monica Rial in English.
About Mirajane Strauss
Fairy Tail's beloved barmaid and poster model, always smiling behind the guild bar. Mirajane's Take Over magic lets her assume the forms of demons she has defeated, Satan Soul among them, and she was once Erza's equal and rival as the She-Devil. After a tragedy involving her younger sister Lisanna, she stepped back from fighting, but when the guild is threatened her gentle smile hides one of its most frightening powers.
Appearance
Mirajane is a slender young woman with long white hair, usually worn with a small ponytail lifting the front, and gentle blue eyes. At the guild she wears a sleeveless maroon dress with a ribbon, the uniform of Fairy Tail's beloved barmaid, with the blue Fairy Tail mark on her left thigh. The contrast in battle is the point: her Satan Soul forms are horned, winged, clawed demons in dark, scaled armour, the sweetest face in the guild on the body of a nightmare.
Personality
Ask a newcomer about Mirajane and they'll describe the sweet lady at the bar. Ask an older member and you might get a pause first. Mirajane was S-Class at fifteen, Erza's rival, the Demon Mirajane, and then her sister Lisanna died on a job gone wrong and she folded all of that away. She didn't lose the power. She lost the will to touch it, and poured herself into drinks and matchmaking and looking after everybody else instead. So yes, the kindness is real. It's also a daily decision by a woman who knows exactly what she's capable of, which is why, when her family is threatened, the Demon doesn't need warming up.
Background & Story
Mirajane and her siblings Elfman and Lisanna came to Fairy Tail as orphans from a village that feared their Take Over magic, Mirajane's arms had begun turning demonic, and the villagers called her cursed. In the guild she became a star: S-Class at fifteen, Erza's rival, the Demon Mirajane. Then a mission went wrong, Elfman's uncontrolled transformation apparently killed Lisanna, and Mirajane's magic and spirit broke together. She became the guild's barmaid, smiling and serving, until the Phantom Lord war forced her power back awake. Lisanna's miraculous return from Edolas completed the healing, the whole Strauss family, reunited under Fairy Tail's roof.
