About Franky Franklin
Franky is a tobacconist who is really an informant, selling secrets and forged papers to spies on both sides. He is Loid's oldest friend, emergency babysitter and unluckiest romantic, dragged into missions whenever Twilight needs a hand. Greedy and grumbling on the surface, Franky is the one person who always shows up for the Forgers.
Appearance
Franky is a short man with a mop of dark curly hair and an expressive, put-upon face, usually seen in his tobacconist's shop or in whatever disguise a job demands. He looks like comic relief, which, to the intelligence services who underestimate him, is a professional asset.
Personality
Franky is greedy, grumbling and unlucky in love, and complains about every job Loid drags him into, while doing all of them. He sells information to anyone paying, dreams of romance and riches, and is, underneath, the most reliable man in Loid's life: the friend who forges the papers, builds the gadgets, babysits the telepath and never once asks what it is really all for.
Background & Story
Franky runs a tobacco shop in Berlint as cover for his real trade: information and forgery for the intelligence underworld. He and Twilight go back years, and Franky is one of the few who knew Loid before the Forger family existed. Operation Strix made him the family's unofficial uncle, supplier of documents, inventor of absurd gadgets, and emergency babysitter for Anya, whose mind-reading makes babysitting her a uniquely losing proposition. His romantic life is a running disaster that the whole cast follows like a serial drama.
Powers & Abilities
- Forgery and invention: Franky is a master forger and gadget-maker, documents, disguises and improbable inventions supplied on demand for Loid's missions.
Key Relationships
- Loid Forger: His oldest friend, Franky complains about every favour and performs all of them, the one person who always shows up.
- Anya Forger: His frequent babysitting charge, who reads his mind, defeats his schemes and adores him anyway.
