Diego Brando, called 'Dio' by the crowds, is a British racing prodigy in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run and the fiercest rival of Johnny and Gyro. His Stand, Scary Monsters, lets him turn himself and others into dinosaurs. He is voiced by Kaito Ishikawa in Japanese and Damien Haas in English.

Diego Brando, 'Dio' to the crowds, is a British racing prodigy raised in poverty and polished into a star. Charming, ruthless and incapable of accepting second place, he is Johnny and Gyro's fiercest rival from the first stage. Diego races for the fortune and status he was born without, and he will use any horse, trick or ally to win.
Appearance
Diego is a handsome, sharp-featured young man with blond hair and cold blue eyes, dressed in expensive, immaculate riding gear with a cap marked with his name. Everything about him is polished for the cameras that follow Britain's racing darling. When Scary Monsters takes hold, the polish falls away: scales, claws, a tail and raptor eyes replace the gentleman jockey.
Personality
Diego is charming in public and utterly ruthless in private. Raised in poverty and humiliation, he decided early that the world respects only winners, and he treats every person, ally and race as a ladder. He is a genius rider and a quick study of any power he sees, but his pride and hunger for status make him as dangerous to his partners as to his rivals.
Background & Story
Diego Brando grew up poor in Britain, watching his mother sacrifice everything, including, in the end, her health, to keep him fed and proud. He swore he would never be looked down on again. Talent made him a star jockey, and the Steel Ball Run's fifty-million-dollar prize drew him to America as the race's favourite. On the trail he becomes entangled in the hunt for the holy corpse parts and gains the power of Scary Monsters, shifting between Johnny and Gyro's side and the President's as advantage dictates.
