Diablo is one of the Primordial demons, an ancient and immensely powerful being who offers Rimuru his service with unsettling joy. Polished, theatrical and fanatically devoted, he handles Tempest's darkest diplomacy and treats every order as a sacred honour. Other demons fear him; Rimuru mostly has to stop him from overdoing his loyalty.

Appearance

Diablo appears as an elegant man with black hair streaked with red and gold, golden eyes and a perpetual knowing smile, dressed in a perfectly tailored black butler's suit as Rimuru's second secretary. The polish is deliberate: everything about him is designed to look like a flawless servant, which makes the moments when his ancient, demonic nature shows through, a glance, a smile held too long, all the more chilling.

Personality

Diablo is theatrical, fanatical and terrifyingly competent. A demon older than kingdoms, he has waited millennia for a master he considers worthy, and Rimuru exceeded his hopes: every order is a sacred honour, every success an offering. He is courteous to allies, amused by enemies and absolutely merciless to anything that inconveniences Rimuru. Other demons, who fear his name, find his cheerful servitude deeply disturbing, which he counts as a bonus.

Background & Story

Diablo is Noir, the Primordial Black, one of the seven oldest demons in existence, who has watched the world since its early ages and once served as its most feared tempter. When Rimuru summoned a demon during the crisis after Falmuth's attack, Diablo answered personally, a Primordial accepting a summons was unheard of, and completed his task so perfectly that Rimuru named him Diablo and took him into service. Since then he has handled Tempest's darkest diplomacy and its demon connections, always one elegant step ahead.

Powers & Abilities

• Primordial demon magic: As one of the seven Primordials, Diablo's magic, including temptation and reality-warping demon arts, ranks among the strongest in the world.
• Demon summoning and contracts: He commands lesser demons and the whole hierarchy of his colour line, and can summon his subordinates to Tempest's aid.
• Master manipulator: His true weapon is information and theatre: Diablo engineers political outcomes so completely that enemies rarely realise they were played.
