Assassination Classroom is a comedy-action anime where a class of failing students must kill their super-powered teacher, Koro-sensei, before he destroys Earth at graduation. Lerche's two seasons (2015–2016) total 47 episodes plus an OVA and adapt Yusei Matsui's complete 21-volume manga, ending included; a new anniversary film, Everybody's Time, followed in March 2026.
About Assassination Classroom
A tentacled super-creature blows up most of the moon, then makes a deal: he will teach the worst class in school for a year, and if his students cannot assassinate him by graduation, he will destroy the Earth. So begins Class 3-E's strange school year, where the homework is marksmanship, the field trips are ambushes, and the teacher, nicknamed Koro-sensei, is the kindest, fastest and most encouraging educator any of them has ever had. Lerche animated Yusei Matsui's complete manga across two seasons (2015–2016, 47 episodes plus the Episode 0 OVA), and unusually, the anime adapts the manga's ending in full. The compilation film 365 Days (2016), the Koro Sensei Quest spin-off and a brand-new film, Everybody's Time (March 2026), animating chapters the TV series skipped for the 10th anniversary, round out the franchise. Under the comedy sits a story about written-off kids learning their own worth.
Assassination Classroom is a TV anime from 2015, first released in Winter 2015. It belongs to the Comedy and Action and Drama genres and is listed as a completed series. The summary above is written by the AnimeYug team in our own words.

Story & Plot
Kunugigaoka Junior High dumps its failures into Class 3-E, the 'End Class' in a run-down building on the mountain. Their new teacher is a yellow, smiling creature who moves at Mach 20, regenerated from every wound, and oh. He destroyed the moon and plans to do the same to Earth next March. The government arms the students with anti-teacher weapons and offers a ten-billion-yen bounty. Quiet Nagisa Shiota keeps notes on Koro-sensei's weaknesses while red-haired Karma Akabane attacks with a delinquent's creativity, and professional soldiers and assassins (teacher Tadaomi Karasuma, undercover assassin Irina Jelavic, and worse) keep testing the class from outside.
Yet assassination class keeps turning into something else: Koro-sensei fixes their grades, their confidence and their broken dreams one student at a time. As March approaches, the class uncovers the truth about what he is, who turned him into this, and the exploding-mouse experiment that started it all, and must decide whether the mission they trained for is still the right one. The final lessons land the series' famous emotional ending.

Why Watch Assassination Classroom
- An absurd premise played with total sincerity. The monster is the best teacher in anime
- Every one of Class 3-E's students gets a real moment; nobody stays a background character
- Comedy and assassination-of-the-week episodes build quietly toward a famous emotional finale
- Karma vs Nagisa: the class rivalry becomes one of the series' best dramatic arcs
- A complete adaptation: the anime ends exactly where the manga does
Who Is It For?
Assassination Classroom suits teens and up, and works well as a family watch with older children: the weapons are rubber, the action is playful, and the real subjects are confidence, unfair school systems and grief. Expect to laugh through lessons and cry at graduation.
