Weak Kingsley

Weak Kingsley

From Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2

Quick Answer

Weak Kingsley is a main character of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, a veteran edgerunner once known across Night City simply as 'the King'. The chrome that built his legend is gone, and he survives on reputation, experience and pride. He is voiced by Kentaro Tone in Japanese and Clancy Brown in English.

About Weak Kingsley

Weak Kingsley was once simply 'the King', the edgerunner every fixer in Night City called first. Now the chrome that built his legend is gone, and he survives on reputation, experience and pride. Pulled back into one last tangle of corporate secrets, Weak has to learn what a legend is worth when the body that made it has been stripped away.

Appearance

Weak is an older, heavyset veteran whose body tells his story at a glance: where other edgerunners gleam with implants, he is startlingly plain, flesh, scars and old muscle instead of chrome. He dresses like a man who stopped performing for Night City years ago, and carries himself with the slow, unimpressed confidence of someone who has survived everything the city throws at its legends.

Personality

Weak is proud, dry-humoured and stubborn to the bone. Losing his cyberware after a cyberpsychotic episode cost him his name, his work and his place in the world, and he meets that humiliation with defiance rather than self-pity. He is slower to trust and quicker to sacrifice himself than the young runners around him, a king in exile who still thinks like one.

Background & Story

There was a time when every fixer in Night City called the same man first: 'the King', the edgerunner Weak Kingsley, chromed to the edge of what a body can carry. A cyberpsychotic episode ended it, the implants came out, because putting new chrome in risks bringing the madness back. Since then Weak has lived unplugged in a city that only respects the plugged-in, getting by on reputation and nerve. In 2078, an Arasaka data chip carrying an AI called Capri drags the old legend back into one last job, alongside a revenge-driven netrunner, a corpo-born Maelstrom fighter and a kid with a camera.

Powers & Abilities

  • Unchromed veteran skill: With no cyberware left to rely on, Weak fights and survives on decades of edgerunning experience, marksmanship, nerve and a street-fighter's reading of any room in Night City.

Key Relationships

  • Avida: The great love of his younger life, a jazz singer who chose safety and a corporate marriage over the street, their past returns with her daughter's danger.
  • Talia Yang: Avida's daughter and a fellow lead of the Capri job; Weak watches the corpo-born Maelstrom fighter with the wariness of a man who knew her mother.
  • D: The Snake Nation netrunner whose revenge hunt collides with Weak's last job around the same Arasaka secrets.
  • Roman Carax: The young filmmaker documenting Night City's edgerunners, including the legend Weak used to be.

Quick Answers

Why is Weak Kingsley called Weak?

He was once 'the King', Night City's first-call edgerunner. After a cyberpsychotic episode forced him to give up his chrome, the stripped-down legend picked up the bitter nickname 'Weak'.

Why doesn't Weak Kingsley use cyberware?

His implants were removed after he went cyberpsycho. Installing new chrome risks triggering another episode, so he works unchromed, almost unheard of for an edgerunner.

Who voices Weak Kingsley?

Weak Kingsley is voiced by Kentaro Tone in Japanese and by Clancy Brown in the English dub of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.
