Kitano

About Kitano

Kitano is an Arasaka man, a corporate operative for the most powerful company in Night City. Where edgerunners chase money and gangs chase territory, Kitano serves the corporation's coldest interests, including the secrets surrounding its experimental technology. In a city of loud mercenaries, his quiet corporate loyalty makes him one of the most dangerous people in the room.

Appearance

Kitano has the controlled, forgettable polish of a corporate operative, neat suit, neat manner, nothing that draws the eye. In a city of loud mercenaries and chrome-plated gangs, his quiet is the point: he looks like a meeting, and he is more dangerous than most gunfights.

Personality

Kitano is calm, loyal and cold. Where edgerunners chase money and gangs chase territory, he serves Arasaka's interests with a professional's patience, treating people as assets, liabilities and loose ends. His corporate loyalty is total, which in Night City makes him one of the most dangerous people in any room he stands in.

Background & Story

Kitano works for Arasaka, the corporation whose name runs Night City from the top floor down. His portfolio includes the company's most sensitive secrets, among them the experimental technology and the Capri data that pull Weak Kingsley, D, Talia Yang and Roman Carax into the same deadly tangle. Where the street sees chaos, Kitano sees a cleanup schedule.

Key Relationships

• Talia Yang: The Maelstrom fighter made valuable by an Arasaka experiment, exactly the kind of loose end Kitano's work exists to control.
• D: The netrunner digging into Arasaka's buried secrets; D's hunt and Kitano's duty are on a collision course.
• Richard: A Kang Tao counterpart, the rival corporation's operative, playing the same cold game from the other boardroom.
