Satomi is a pretty, gentle-looking 17-year-old with long dark hair usually worn loose or in a ponytail, warm brown eyes and a soft, expressive face. She is most often seen in her school uniform, navy blazer, white shirt, red tie and pleated skirt, or in simple, feminine casual clothes outside school. There is nothing unusual about her at all, and that is the point: in a story full of creatures wearing human faces, Satomi's open, ordinary humanness is what everyone around her is quietly fighting to protect.

Satomi is kind, honest and far more perceptive than Shinichi gives her credit for.
