Peter Ratri

About Peter Ratri

Peter Ratri is the cold head of the Ratri clan, the human family that has managed the demon farms for a thousand years under the ancient promise. Where Isabella raised children with love before sending them to slaughter, Peter sees only livestock and order. He becomes Emma's final obstacle: the man who would rather destroy everything than let the farms fall.

Appearance

Peter Ratri is a composed adult man with neatly kept dark hair and a calm, unreadable face, usually dressed in formal, immaculate clothing fitting the head of an old clan. Nothing about him looks monstrous, which suits him: his cruelty is administrative, delivered in a level voice.

Personality

Peter is cold, rational and utterly committed to the system his family maintains. Where Isabella hides the farm behind love, Peter sees only order, duty and livestock. He treats a thousand years of managed horror as a reasonable price for peace between worlds, and regards anyone who would break it as a danger to be removed.

Background & Story

A thousand years before the story, the Ratri clan brokered the promise that split the human and demon worlds, and took on the duty of maintaining the farms that feed demons human children. Peter Ratri inherits that duty as clan head, overseeing the farm system from the human side and enforcing it without sentiment. Within the scope of the anime's early story he stands behind Isabella and the Grace Field system as its ultimate human authority: the man for whom the orphanages, the Moms and the shipments all exist, and who will defend that order against anyone, including escaped children.

Key Relationships

• Isabella: One of his farm managers, valued for her results and watched like every other part of the system.
• Emma: The escaped child whose dream of freeing every child is a direct challenge to his family's thousand-year order.
