Ichigo Saito
From Oshi no Ko
Ichigo Saito is a supporting character in Oshi no Ko, the founder of Strawberry Productions who managed Ai Hoshino, and who vanished after her death broke him. He is voiced by Hisao Egawa in Japanese and Brandon Hearnsberger in English.
About Ichigo Saito
Ichigo Saito founded Strawberry Productions and managed Ai Hoshino, guiding B-Komachi to the Tokyo Dome. Ai's death broke him; he abandoned the agency and his wife Miyako, and disappeared. Aqua's search for the truth about Ai keeps leading back to the man who knew her best, and Ichigo's guilt and knowledge make him one of the story's most important missing pieces.
Appearance
Ichigo Saito is a middle-aged man usually seen, in the twins' childhood, in sharp producer's suits, with a confident, driven manner and the restless energy of a man building something. He looks like the entertainment industry personified: ambitious, charming and always mid-negotiation. In his rare later appearances he is a shadow of that man, worn down and withdrawn, the difference itself a measure of what he lost.
Personality
Ichigo was a passionate, ambitious producer who believed in Ai completely and built Strawberry Productions around her. His love for the work, and his guilt, were equally outsized: when Ai died, he judged himself her failed protector and walked away from everything, including the family that needed him. Beneath the disappearance is not indifference but a man still punishing himself years later.
Background & Story
Ichigo founded Strawberry Productions and managed Ai Hoshino from her early career, guiding B-Komachi toward a Tokyo Dome concert, the summit of the idol world. He and his wife Miyako also secretly housed Ai's twins. Ai's death shattered him: blaming himself, Ichigo abandoned the agency, his wife and the children, and disappeared from the industry entirely. Aqua's search for the truth about Ai keeps leading back to the man who knew her career, and her secrets, better than anyone alive.
