Keiji Mogami was hailed as the psychic of the century, a famous exorcist who used his powers for good, until clients' ingratitude and his mother's death twisted him into a vengeful spirit who collects other spirits as weapons. He traps Mob inside a fabricated life of misery to prove that anyone would turn cruel, creating Season 2's darkest and most celebrated episodes.

Appearance

In life Mogami appeared as a composed, famous exorcist; as a spirit he manifests as a gaunt, terrifying figure with hollow features, and inside his mental world he can appear as almost anything, including a version of Mob's classmate's tormentors. His signature is wrongness: a calm, reasonable voice coming from something that feels like a graveyard. The anime draws his world in bleached, dreamlike tones that make even ordinary school scenes feel haunted.

Personality

Mogami is calm, philosophical and utterly convinced of his thesis: that human beings are selfish at the core and kindness is a luxury of the comfortable. He does not rage, he demonstrates, constructing his argument as an entire false life for Mob to suffer through. Hired to be exorcised from a wealthy client's daughter, Mogami instead traps Mob inside a constructed mental world: years of fabricated bullying and helplessness designed to prove that anyone, even Mob, would turn cruel given a cruel enough life.
