About Laid-Back Camp

Laid-Back Camp follows a group of high school girls in Yamanashi who discover the simple joy of camping. Nadeshiko Kagamihara has just moved to the area when she meets Rin Shima, a girl who camps by herself and likes it that way. Nadeshiko joins the Outdoor Activities Circle at school, and trip by trip the group grows closer: pitching tents in the cold, cooking over small stoves, soaking in hot springs and waking up early for views of Mount Fuji. The anime adapts the manga by Afro, which runs in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara magazines. Three seasons and a film have been released, along with the Room Camp short episodes. Season 4 was first announced on 9 November 2024. A teaser in March 2026 revealed a 2027 debut and a change of studio, from 8-bit to FuRyu Pictures, and on 6 November 2026 the team shared the main visual and a full trailer, confirming an April 2027 premiere. Director Shin Tosaka returns, with Pierre Sugiura on series composition and Akiyuki Tateyama composing the music. Asaka sings the opening theme and Eri Sasaki sings the ending theme, both returning artists. Season 4 arrives three years after Season 3 began in April 2024.

Laid-Back Camp is a TV anime from 2018, first released in Winter 2018. It belongs to the Slice of Life and Comedy genres. The summary above is written by the AnimeYug team in our own words.

Story & Plot

Nadeshiko Kagamihara has just moved from Hamamatsu to Yamanashi, and on her very first day she cycles out to see Mount Fuji. The weather turns, she gets lost and tired, and she falls asleep by a lake. When she wakes up, it is dark and she is stuck. The person who helps her is Rin Shima, a girl her own age who is camping alone nearby and quietly knows exactly what she is doing.

That one cold night is enough. Back at school, Nadeshiko joins the Outdoor Activities Circle, a tiny club with big plans and very little money. With Chiaki, Aoi, Ena and, from a distance at first, Rin, she learns how camping actually works: how to pitch a tent, light a fire, cook a proper meal outdoors and stay warm when the temperature drops.

There is no big drama here, and that is the point. The story moves at walking pace from trip to trip, season to season, as the girls grow more confident and the circle grows with them. By Season 4, the older girls are thinking about how to bring new freshmen into the club, so the next generation can find the same quiet joy they did.
