Winter 2014 Anime

At the edge of human awareness lives Yato, a forgotten god who will grant any wish for five yen. Noragami begins when schoolgirl Hiyori Iki pushes a stranger out of the path of a bus and wakes up able to slip out of her body and see the world of gods and spirits. The stranger is Yato, a broke, tracksuit-wearing minor god of calamity with no shrine, who dreams of fame and takes odd jobs while fighting phantoms with his shinki, the spirits who serve gods as living weapons. Together with the teenage shinki Yukine, the three form a strange family as Yato's violent past catches up with him: the war god Bishamon hunts him for an old tragedy, and the god Ebisu's dangerous plans drag everyone toward Yomi, the land of the dead. The anime by studio Bones has two seasons, Noragami (2014) and Noragami Aragoto (2015), plus four OVAs, mixing action, comedy and real emotion.
