Spring 2026 Anime

Coco is a young girl in a small village who has dreamed of becoming a witch since childhood, but in her world, witches are born, not made, and the secrets of magic are hidden from ordinary people. Everything changes when the travelling witch Qifrey visits her mother's tailor shop and Coco secretly watches him work: magic is not cast from memory, it is drawn, with special ink and precise signs that anyone could use. Trying the spells from a mysterious picture book she was given as a child, Coco casts a forbidden spell that turns her mother to stone. Taken in as Qifrey's apprentice, she joins his atelier to learn real magic and search for a way to undo her mistake, alongside fellow apprentices Agott, Tetia and Richeh, under the eyes of the secretive witch society, its Knights Moralis enforcers and the outlawed Brimmed Caps who gave her the book. Animated by BUG FILMS and directed by Ayumu Watanabe, the 13-episode first season (spring 2026) brings Kamome Shirahama's award-winning manga to life in rich, storybook detail. A second season has been announced.
